I am Daniela Berger-Riede, the brains behind Übersetzungen Riede

Translation is my job, working with languages my vocation. Nevertheless, loving a language or possessing multilingual abilities are not sufficient skills to become a professional translator.

This is why I have learnt my craft from the ground up, so that you can rely on my profound expertise and long-standing experience. Your French to German and English to German translations – particularly in technical, construction engineering and legal fields – are in safe hands at Übersetzungen Riede.

Education and qualifications

My studies, culminating in a state examination, and the authorisation for courts and notaries all guarantee my comprehensive linguistic understanding and legal certainty when translating your texts and documents:

  • French, Spanish and English: Martin-Luther-University, Halle-Wittenberg, Germany
  • Studies at Université de Provence Aix-Marseille I (France)
  • Translation studies at AKAD University Stuttgart
  • State-certified translator for French
  • Freelance translator since 2010
  • Authorised translator of French for the courts and notaries of the Free State of Thuringia. Valid throughout Germany.
Associations and continuous professional development

To become a member of the German Association of Interpreters and Translators (BDÜ),
you need to provide proof of specific qualifications and meet a high level of requirements.

  • Member of the Bundesverband der Dolmetscher und Übersetzer (BDÜ)
  • Member of the board in the regional association of the BDÜ Thuringia since 2011 (branch manager and CPD advisor)
  • Regular participation in further education and training courses for professional development, including: Automotive engineering, differences between German and French civil and criminal procedure codes, translation of patents for technical translators, machine tools and manufacturing technology.
