Data protection policy

Responsible body in the sense of the data protection laws is:

Collection of general information

When you access our website, information of a general nature is automatically collected. This information (server log files) includes the type of web browser, the operating system used, the domain name of your Internet service provider and similar information. This information is entirely of a nature that permits no conclusions to be drawn about your person. This information is technically necessary in order to correctly deliver the content you have requested from websites and is mandatory when using the internet. Anonymous information of this kind is statistically evaluated by us in order to optimise our internet presence and the technology behind it.

Cookies

Like many other websites, we also use so-called "cookies". Cookies are small text files that are transferred from a website server to your hard drive. This automatically provides us with certain data such as IP address, browser used and operating system via your computer and your connection to the internet.

Cookies cannot be used to start programmes or to transmit viruses to a computer. Based on the information contained in cookies, we can make navigation easier for you and enable the correct display of our web pages.

Under no circumstances will the data we collect be passed on to third parties or linked to personal data without your consent.

Of course, you can also view our website without cookies. Internet browsers are normally set to accept cookies. You can deactivate the use of cookies at any time via the settings of your browser. Please use the Help functions of your internet browser to find out how to change these settings. Please note that some features of our website may not work if you have disabled the use of cookies.

Cookie consent with Complianz

Complianz is a GDPR/CCPA cookie consent plugin developed by Complianz B.V., Kalmarweg 14-5 9723 JG (NL). It enables the creation of a legally compliant cookie banner that informs visitors about the set cookies and asks for consent to store specific cookies in their browser.

The use of Complianz is to obtain the legally required consent for cookies. This is legally based on Art. 6, Para. 1, lit. f DSGVO.

The cookie consent banner will appear to visitors to our website. The consent and settings that you make will be stored in your browser in a Complianz cookie. This data is not shared with third parties.

You can find further information about the storage and use of user data by Complianz in the Cookie guideline (EU) (link in name) and in the data protection policy of Complianz B.V. https://complianz.io/legal/privacy-statement/

Using the Wordfence plugin

This website uses the “Wordfence” plugin for security purposes, a service provided by Defiant Inc., 800 5th Ave Ste 4100, Seattle, WA 98104, USA. This plugin protects the website against unauthorised third parties attempting to gain access to the website and personal data. The integrated malware scanner checks our website for malware and blocks threats from viruses.

Wordfence records the IP addresses of users and, where applicable, further data on their behaviour on our website (particularly accessed URLs and header information), in order to recognise and block unauthorised page access and risks. The recorded IP addresses are compared with a list of known attackers. If a recorded IP address is recognised as a security risk, Wordfence can automatically block website access. The collected information is sent to and stored on a Defiant Inc. (USA) server.

The use of Wordfence is intended to reinforce the security of this website and the security of website users. This forms a legitimate interest in the sense of Art. 6, Para. 1, lit. f, DSGVO.

More information about the handling of user data can be found under https://www.wordfence.com/blog/2018/05/wordfence-is-gdpr-compliant/ and in the data protection policy of Defiant: https://www.wordfence.com/privacy-policy/

SSL encryption

To protect the security of your data during transmission, we use state-of-the-art encryption methods (e.g. SSL) via HTTPS.

Contact Form
If you contact us via e-mail or contact form, the information you have provided will be stored for the purpose of processing your inquiry and for possible follow-up questions.

Use of script libraries (Google Web Fonts)
In order to present our contents correctly and graphically appealing across all browsers, we use script libraries and font libraries such as Google Web Fonts (https://www.google.com/webfonts/) on our website. Google Web Fonts are transferred to your browser's cache to avoid multiple loading. If your browser does not support Google Web Fonts or does not allow access, the contents will be displayed in a standard font.

The loading of script or font libraries automatically triggers a connection to the library operator. It is theoretically possible – but currently also unclear whether and, if so, for what purposes – that operators of corresponding libraries collect data.

The privacy policy of the library operator Google can be found here: https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/

Your rights to information, correction, blocking, deletion and objection

This website uses Google Maps API to display geographical information visually. When using Google Maps, Google also collects, processes and uses data about the use of map functions by visitors. You can find more information about Google’s data processing in the Google privacy policy. You can also change your personal data protection settings in the Data Protection Centre.

Detailed instructions for managing your own data in connection with Google products can be found here.

Changes to our data privacy policy

We reserve the right to occasionally adapt this data policy so that it meets current legal required or to incorporate changes to our services in the data protection policy, e.g. when introducing new services. The new data privacy policy will then apply when you next visit.
